、a lot of = lots of,可修飾可數(shù)或不可數(shù)名詞,意為“許多”, “大量的”,相當(dāng)于many或much.a lot, a lot of, lots of通常用于肯定句,否定句中一般用many或much,如：
There’s a lot of work to do and a lot of people have been sent there.
有許多事情要做,許多人已派去那里了.
a little, a few：一些.a little形容不可數(shù)名詞、形容詞和a few形容可數(shù)名詞.例:
I have a little money; I'm a little hungry； I have a few books.
little, few,指幾乎沒(méi)有,little形容不可數(shù)名詞,few形容可數(shù)名詞
much,many,表示很多,前者用于形容詞比較級(jí)及不可數(shù)名詞,后者用于修飾可數(shù)名詞;例:
It's much easier now; There're much water in the tank; I have many books;
some, any,表示一些,前者用于肯定陳述及委婉請(qǐng)求,后者用于否定句及一般疑問(wèn)句;例:
I have some books; Would you like some coffee? I don't have any books; Is there any coffee in your cup?
plenty of稍微復(fù)雜一點(diǎn),用于口語(yǔ)表達(dá)時(shí)修飾不可數(shù)名詞的程度而非數(shù)量多一些,但它也可以修飾可數(shù)名詞,只是情況稍少些
a lot of, 相當(dāng)于much,more的化身,但僅用于修飾名詞,當(dāng)后面接形容詞比較級(jí)時(shí),應(yīng)為a lot;例:
There is a lot of water in the tank; There'are a lot of books in my room; I'm a lot better now, thanks.
