SAT語法 -ing一類題
有一組 -ing的問題,我都很不解,
1.When he began to excavate the ruins,he unearthed artifacts indicating a 500-year occupation by indigenous people.這里indicating是對的.
2.In 1850,Jim,a Black American explorer,discovered in the mountains of the Sierra Nevada a pass soon becoming an important gateway to California gold-rush country.
這里becoming 要改成 that would soon become,我看不出來這1.2 兩題有什么不同.
3.Uncertain how to proceed with the scene,the actors stopped,awaiting for future instruction from the director.
這里它改成了and awaited
4.The newspaper reported that having the increase in the minimum wage,many people are still having trouble making ends meet.
這里也是錯的,
還有 -ing 什么時候修飾前面緊跟的名詞,什么時候表示主語的動作,也搞不清.
比如：
5.The Pony Express was an ingenious system for carrying mail,having existed only briefly before the telegraph system made it obsolete.
A.原句,
B.(正確答案) mail; it was in existence only briefly,however,
解釋給的是,這個having 修飾mail,不對,應(yīng)該修飾 Pony Express.
為什么這個having 就是修飾mail,不能表示Pony Express的狀態(tài)呢.
