    Dear Sir,
I am writing to you with some ideas of what you can do with the items that passengers leave on your planes.
First, you can divide the items into different kinds according to the use,the value or how long they can keep.In my opinion, you can divide them into food&drinks, daily use things (Such as clothes, umbrellas, medicine and books),valuables and something urgent for passengers. As thus, when someone looks for these items, you can find them out in a very short time.
I think you should keep items like the jewellery for a long time to see if anyone asks for it.A year later you can sell it and give the money to help the poor or the sick. You can give the books to the local library and clothes to the people who need them in a week. Some food and drinks can be thrown away after 24 hours. Also you should set up a special telephone line for “Lost and Found”.So if passengers noticed that they might have lost something important (like passports) on your planes, they were to call back to inquire.
I hope my ideas can help you!
    Sincerely yours,
    Sandy
