Good afternoon everyone, do you know why are we saying Macau is Las Vegas of the East? It’s because the gambling business, so we cannot leaving aside that point when we are talking about the effect of tourism in Macau.
Now a days, a much number of people who traveling in Macau, are not only for the World cultural Heritage or taste the Portuguese egg tarts, but they also will take some time to the casino for chance their luck, from this it can be seen that gambling and tourism are cheek by jowl in Macau, it seem like a perfect match to making money, and the tax revenue from that has supported the locally development of education , government subsidies, construction of infrastructural facilities and so on.
However, like most things it has both advantage and disadvantage, tourism go along with gambling, it may bring some unforeseeable problem.
In fact, some of the traveller is an out-and-out confirmed gambler, if they lost all their money. we may see the ugliest side of human nature, specially the self-guided traveller, they have their own tour schedule, can travel without restriction, there can be mush of hidden trouble. And the other point is we have to look at things from a higher elevation and look from the perspective of the long-term locally development, Gambling is a good business but not a good thing, some prejudice colored the others views, they may think travel to Macau just mean to Gambling, killed the image out of Macau.
