Suddenly, fortune befalls the orphan Jerusha Abbott, who later renames herself as Judy. Having read one of her articles, one of the asylum's trustees offers to anonymously pay her way through college and brings her up to become a writer. As is requested, the trustee makes Judy write him a monthly letter about her life, he will never reply. Indeliberately, Judy gets a glimpse of his back made longer by headlight, thus, she calls this kind-hearted man as "daddy-long-legs". Later on, she starts writing to her daddy-long-legs with a humourous yet heartfelt tone, reporting her college life and disclosing her mind. However, when she comes to understand that she will never have a reply of those letters, she begins to complain as an adolescent and her rebellious inner world, like in her asylum time, starts to stir. Until she has a crush on eloquent and charming Master Jervie, she again takes daddy-long-legs as her listener. Just when she is thinking about expressing her love to Master Jervie, her "daddy-long-legs" shows up and he is none other than...
The novel is filled with laughers and warm affections, which tells a very impressive story about a hard-working and aspiring girl. I believe it is a good novel for all the boys and girls who feel disoriented while growing up.
