After participating in his first robot-making competition,Nigel spent the next two months rebuilding his robot.During this time Nigel finds out about the prizes for the competition or about another competitor,Alicia,from a neighbouring school.Nigel decided to befriend Alicia.Unawares of his intentions,she told him all about the robot that she was building for the competition.Nigel was glad that he has spoke to her.He modified and improved on his design,spending nights in school trying to program it to pick up objects from the ground and glide between cones.When the day of the competition drew near,Nigel made improvements with his robot and spent time with Alicia.He even help her to fix one part of her robot."It is good that she has not ask about my robot.I do not know what to tell her," Nigel admitted guiltily to his brother the night before the competition.
