though和although在意義上幾乎無區(qū)別，但文體上后者是較正式用詞，語氣比though強(qiáng)。此外，在習(xí)慣用法上這兩個(gè)詞仍有以下一些差異：
1. though可引出倒裝語序的讓步狀語從句，although 則不能。
He still argues, though wrong he knows he is. 雖然他知道錯(cuò)了，可仍在爭(zhēng)辯。
2. though可與even連用，although則不能；在as though結(jié)構(gòu)中，只用though，不能用although。
Even though it was raining, she walked to work. 即使下雨，她也要走著去工作
They looked as though they had been quarreling. 看起來他們剛才好像在吵架
3. though可以置于從句末，而although則不能。
It is hard work, I enjoy it, though. 這是件艱難的工作, 可是我還是喜歡它。
I wish you had told me, though. 話雖這樣說, 你告訴我就好了。
4. 引出省略句時(shí)，通常用though。
He's very attractive, though certainly not a lady-killer. 他很有魅力，雖然還不至于使女人一見傾心。
