he company may,in its absolute discretion,at any time during the whole of part of any period of notice to terminate the employee's appointment (whether such notice is given by the employee or the company) lawfully terminate the appointment by notice in writing with immediate effect by paying to the employee an amount equal to his basic salary entitlement for the then unexpired period of notice together wirh such further amount as is equal to the fair value of any other benefits to which the employee is contractually entitled under the terms of this agreement during such unexpired period of notice(subject in either case to deduction at source of income tax and national insurance contributions).
