repair,fix和mend的區(qū)別
repair比mend和fix略正式.可用于表示修補、修理任何打破或損壞的物品,或是有洞的東西,如衣服.
如：
He repairs old furniture.
It cost too much to get the car repaired.
The roof needs repairing in a few places.
在英國英語中,fix和mend基本相同,但表示修理機械、車輛等時,人們更傾向于用fix,而表示修補衣服上的洞,修路或房頂、籬笆等時,則多用mend.
如：
He's outside fixing the brakes on the car.
Ellis was able to quickly find and fix the problem.
My father used to mend our shoes.
