我認為 the reason在定從中 不是 作狀語時 而是作主語或賓語時 用 that
如 the reason that he told me is true 他告訴我的原因 是真的 that在定從中 作直接賓語
如果 the reason在定從中 作原因狀語 關系詞用why = for which
the reason why he was late was that he didn't catch the bus.關系副詞why 在定從中 作狀語
不過 that 可以 代替why 也就是 that有時 可以當關系副詞 用
所以 第二句 也可以用that 這時 that=why =for which
也就是 that可以代替why 并且還可以省略 但why 不能代替 that
