二者不同.
no more than 表示“還不如……沒強哪去,沒多哪去” 比較的雙方都不多或者不好,有貶義.
no less than 也是類似的意思,多含感情色彩 有時褒有時貶,要看上下文
less than 和 more than無褒貶義,只是客觀陳述少于
not more than 和not less than 也是只是more/less than 的否定 客觀陳述不多于
no more than 和no less than多用于描述,而非比較.
推廣到比較級的普遍用法 這是一種表達句式 no 比較級 than 一般都帶感情色彩 表示二者都與所表述詞語【相反】(這是重點所在).有時強調(diào)前者
如：
He is no happier (he was) before.
他和以前一樣不幸福(并不是說現(xiàn)在沒以前幸福,而是說以前不幸福 現(xiàn)在更不幸福 都不咋地)
That hotel probably costs no less than 20 dollars a night.
那間旅館的住宿費大約要20元一晚呢.(不是表示“比20元貴”而是說“20元就好貴了”)
要說意義相同的話,less than 和not more than 倒是可以互換 同樣 more than 和not less than 也差不多 但是no more than no less than 就不能隨便用了
