both 與 all 的位置和頻度副詞一樣放在be動詞,情態(tài)動詞及助動詞之后,如有多個助動詞,則放在第一個助動詞之后,放在一般動詞(實義動詞)之前.例:They all (both)went there.他們全都(兩個)去那里了.
all代表或修飾三個以上的人或物,或不可數(shù)的東西,在句中可作主語,表語,賓語,同位語和定語．
例：1．All of us like her.(作主語）
＝＝We all like her.(作同位語)
我們所有的人都喜歡她．
2．All the oil (不可數(shù)名詞) has been used up.(作主語)
所有的油都用完了
3．That's all for today.(作表語)今天就到這兒了．
4．You have not eaten all (of) the bread.(作賓語)
你的面包沒有吃完．
5．All the students were there.(作定語) 所有的學生都在那兒．
both 是指兩者都．．．而all是指三個和三個以上的人或物都．．．
注意它們的區(qū)別：
例：1,They were all waiting outside the gate.
他們（三個以上）都在大門外等著．
2,They were both waiting outside the gate.
他們兩個都在大門外等著．
