This national holiday,I took my family to Guilin.Four adults,a child and a car,it was my third trip to Guilin.The first time was more or less 25 years ago,when I was a boy a liittle bigger than my present son Jinjin.That time I got a serious seasickness on board from Guilin to Yangshuo and was not able to enjoy anything on Lijiang river.The second time was in 2002,my wife and I draft on Yulong river,everything was civilized.Eight years passed away,are there any big changes now?
We set out on the first October,a fine day.The problem was that the traffic was not fine.There were too many vehicles on the free way which could lead us from GZ to Guiliin directly.Expericing three times traffic jams and spending 10 hours on the road,4 hours more than normal time,we arrived at Xingping,a small town of Yangshuo at seven in the evening.The hostel (found from internet last night) we booked was a small country house.Living condition was simple but I think that was enough for us.My son was rapidly familiar with a young man dressed in a yellow T shirt and kept pestering him.The mistress of the hostel cooked a good dinner for us,to be honest,the delicious food was beyond our imagination.
The house was 150m away from Lijiang river.The master was a local countryman who owned not only the hostel but two raft as well.Tourist who wanted to visit Lijiang river usually choosed to take on a raft and got more open view in this way.We got up early the following morning and took the inner's raft to Jiumahuashan,a beautiful spot in the middle of Xingping and Yangdi,and then had a bowl of rice noodle as our breakfast.There were many people who sold fried food on the beach,the scent successfully attracted Jinjin who tried shrimp,crab and fishes (all were fried and very small) happily,but I thought it must be the satisfaction of curiosity made him happy.
