The Grasshopper and the Cricket 　　John Keats
The poetry of earth is never dead.
When all the birds are faint with the hot sun
And hide in cooling trees,a voice will run
From hedge to hedge about the new?mown mead
That is the Grasshopper’s.He takes the lead
In summer luxury;he has never done
With his delights,for when tired out with fun
He rests at ease beneath some pleasant weed.
The poetry of earth is ceasing never.
On a lone winter evening,when the frost
Has wrought a silence,from the stove there shrills
The cricket’s song,in warmth increasing ever,
And seems to one in drowsiness half lost,
The grasshopper’s among some grassy hills.

大地的詩(shī)歌從來(lái)不會(huì)死亡：
當(dāng)所有的鳥兒因驕陽(yáng)而昏暈,
隱藏在陰涼的林中,就有一種聲音
在新割的草地周圍的樹籬上飄蕩
那就是蟈蟈的樂音啊!它爭(zhēng)先
沉醉于盛夏的豪華,它從未感到
自己的喜悅消逝,一旦唱得疲勞了,
便舒適地棲息在可喜的草叢中間.
大地的詩(shī)歌呀,從來(lái)沒有停息：
在寂寞的冬天夜晚,當(dāng)嚴(yán)霜凝成
一片寧?kù)o,從爐邊就彈起了
蛐蛐的歌兒,在逐漸升高的暖氣,
昏昏欲睡中,人們感到那聲音
仿佛就是蟈蟈在草茸茸的山上鳴叫.
