第一篇How do you read rings?
Look at a log .It was once a tree .And it has a story to tell.
The story isn't in words,but in rings.You can read the story.This isn't difficult to do.You have to know how trees grow.
In warm months trees grow fast.In cold months they don't.The woods grow in layers.Each year makes a layer.
Look at the end of the log where the saw cut.the saw cut through the layers.Each layer makes a ring.There is one ring for each year.
Count the rings and you'll know how old the tree was.A thick ring shows a good year.The tree grew a lot.A thin ring shows a bad year.Maybe it was too cold or dry and the tree didn't grow very much.
So when you see a log,look at the end.Read the rings.They tell the story of the tree's life.
第二篇 Too much dirt
It was so hot one day that a teacher had to open all the windows in her classroom.This helped to make the classroom cooler but it did not make it easy for the teacher to do her work.It was the playtime for the younger children in the school.
There was so much noise from the playground outside that she hah to shout.
She continued her lesson for as long as she could.but her throat soon became sore from shouting.
"We can't go on like this." she said to her students."I must either close the windows or stop the children outside from making so much noise.What do you want me to do?
"Please don't close the windows!" her students said."We'll be cooked here if you do so .Stop the children from making so much noise."
"All right ," the teacher said and walked to one of the windows.She put her head out of the window.and pointed to a child who was shouting,screaming and rolling on the ground in a game.She called to him."Come here,please."
The small boy stood up and walked slowly towards the teacher.
"How old are you?" the teacher asked him,looking him up and down.
"I'm eight," he said.
"Don't tell lies." the teacher said."No one could get as dirty as you are in only eight years!"
第三篇A flower in the desert
There was a small flower in the desert where all was dry and sad-looking.She was growing by herself ...enjoying every day...and saying to the sun ,"When shall I grow up?" And the sun would say,"Be patient...Each time I touch you,you grow a little..." The flower was so pleased,because she would have a chance to bring beauty to the corner of the desert.And this is all she wanted to do——bring a little bit of beauty to this world .
One day a hunter came by and stepped on her .She was dying and she felt so sad.Not because she was dying but because she would not have a chance to bring a little bit of beauty to the corner of the desert.
The great spirit saw her.and he heard her tears."Indeed," he said." she should be living ..." And he reached down and touched her and gave her life.
