One day mother looked at Jack’s shoes and said,"Jack ,look at your shoes.How dirty (臟的) they are!You must clean them."
"Oh,mother,but I cleaned them yesterday ,and I cleaned them cleaner yesterday than last week" said the boy.
"They’re dirty now.You must clean them again."
"I don’t want to clean them today .If (如果) I clean them today,they will be dirty again tomorrow."
Jack’s mother thought ( think的過去式) for a few minutes and said,"All right,don’t clean them then."
In the evening ,Jack came back from school .He was very hungry.
"Mum ,give me something to eat ,please," he said.
"You had your breakfast in the morning,Jack,and you had lunch at school,"his mother said.
"I’m hungry again " cried the boy.
"Oh,hungry But if I give you something to eat today ,you will be hungry again tomorrow."
