In this set of materials ,the reading passage lists many useages of garlic from ancient socity to temperory socity,and the information in the listening passage support the reading passage by telling us that some scientists found that garlic did kill bateria.
The reading passage tells that garlic has been used since 3000 BC .Ancient Egypt used it to cure 22 ailment and to feed the slaves .What's more ,Greek and Roman believed that garlic could ward off evil spells and curses.Sometimes they fed on soliders with garlic for they believed that garlic encouraged the soliders.Additionally,home used it as odysseys and the Vikings used it to increased the endurance during voyages .
The listening material tells some more scientific information to support the reading material .It indicates that some scientists found that garlic could kill bateria during World War 1 and uncooked garlic could kill 23 bateria.
