Gaokun,born in Shanghai in 1933 and aged 77 years old , has cultivated stong interests in scientific experiments since he was very young.In 1975, he was graduated from Electrical Engineering department ,University of London .In 2009 he was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.Although he was reputed as" Father of Fiber Optic Communications ",he said: "I am absolutely speechless and never expected such an honour". He has attributedhis achievements toperseverance in his study. He proposed students should cultivate independent thinking. Only with foresight perspective , can a person make great contributions to scientific research.
Professor Gao's remarks are very exciting. He hopes the younger generation dedicate their energy to scientific research and make contributions through scientific exploration .
