another=an+ other,既可作形容詞,也可作代詞,只能用于三個(gè)或更多的人或物,泛指同類事物中的三者或三者以上的“另一個(gè)”,只能代替或修飾單數(shù)可數(shù)名詞.如：
I don’t like this one. Please show me another.
我不喜歡這一個(gè),請給我看看另一個(gè).
I have three daughters. One is a nurse, another is a teacher and another is a worker.
我有三個(gè)女兒.一個(gè)是護(hù)士,另一個(gè)是教師,還有一個(gè)是工人.
【不定數(shù)目中】的“另一個(gè)”是“another” ,
如:This glass is broken. Get me another. 這個(gè)杯子壞了, 給我另拿一個(gè)來.(在許多杯子中的一個(gè))

the other是【兩個(gè)中】的“另一個(gè)”,
如:Give me the other one; not this one. 給我那一個(gè), 不是這一個(gè).
