AS with the earlier ASLIB survey,attention focuses mainly upon the perceptions of three groups:date processing professional,general managers,and information scientists;although later the focus narrows even more sharply.Rather than become mired in endless definitions,two illustrative examples are used to help focus on the subject.First there is the standard definition of Information Resource Management which,as defined by Burk and Horton,istreated as synonymousand interchangeable with the term”Information Management.”
