在肯定句 besides 和 except 含義相反,
besides表示“除了…之外,還有…”,
except表示“除了之外…,沒有”.
如：I have many things to do beside washing clothes.
我除了洗衣服以外,我還有很多事情要做
We all agreed except him
除了他之外,沒有人反對(duì)
在否定句 besides 和 except 含義相同
如 No one passed except Richard.
No one passed besides Richard.
除了理查德之外,再也沒有人通過.
except和except for的區(qū)別在于,他們之間指代的事物是否是同類型的
如 they all went to bed except me.除了我,他們都去睡覺了.我和他們,都是人.
this room is empty except for a chair.這個(gè)房間除了一張板凳什么都沒有了.房間和板凳不是同一類型的事物.

regardless of表示不去考慮,強(qiáng)調(diào)主觀的不管不顧,We will persevere regardless of past failures.
