小數(shù)
表示小數(shù)時,小數(shù)點前面的基數(shù)詞和前面講的基數(shù)詞的讀法相同；小數(shù)點后的數(shù)字則必須一一讀出：
0．0089→（zero ／naught）point zero zero eight nine
1．36→one point three six
分?jǐn)?shù)
表示分?jǐn)?shù)時,分子要用基數(shù)詞,分母用序數(shù)詞.如果分子大于1,分母必須用復(fù)數(shù)形式：
1／3→a（one）third
2／3→two third
1／4→a（one）quarter（或fourth）
3／7→three seventh
1／2→應(yīng)讀作a（one）half
＊比較復(fù)雜的分?jǐn)?shù)如：24／789,多讀作 twenty four over seven hundred and eighty nine.
百分?jǐn)?shù)
百分?jǐn)?shù)由percent表示,百分號％讀作 percent,應(yīng)用時常與by連用.
0．68％→zero point six eight percent
6％→six percent
369％→three hundred and sixty nine percent
The output of steel went up by 20 percent．鋼產(chǎn)量增長20％.
The price of cotton was reduced by 20 percent．棉花的價格下降了20％.
