Because the Chinese traditional wedding have too many taboos,not to enumerate,so I will give you a few examples when meet the bride.
In accordance with the custom of Han,before the bride goes into the sedan chair,she must get a red lid covered her head.The red lid is a square of red cloth.It can blindfold the bride’s neck and shoulder,so that the others cannot see her face.It is said that the red lid is used to cover up the bride’s embarrassment Red also symbolizes fire which can counteract evil force.Also it is said that the bride should not step on the ground so as to ward off evil spirits.So the bride’s father or brother will hold the bride on back and send her into the sedan chair.With the development of time,nowadays,most people use car replace the sedan chair,but the tradition still be preserved.（《中國民間禁忌風俗》,萬建中著,2005年,P154）

From what has been mentioned above,we may safely draw the conclusion that the bride is generally considered as a person who carries with bad luck,so some customs or taboos in the wedding mostly aim at the bride in order to exorcise.
