1. 你可能被我們通常熟知的 prefer...to...誤導了,其實句子里的rather than就相當于to了,避免重復,二者只能用其一.
2.如果用 to 則 prefer和 to的后面的比較成分都要用名詞.如：
I prefer tea to coffee when tired.
當我疲倦的時候,我喜歡茶勝過咖啡.“
3. prefer to do...instead of doing...(of 是介詞所以后面接的是動名詞結構)
4. prefer that ...should/would (not)... 這個是prefer接虛擬語氣.
5. 當對方知道你的取向時,可以省略后半句話.如：
I prefer male teachers(to female ones/rather than/instead of female ones).
I prefer to go(rather than stay here).
