layer will be ageing water;and the bottom layer,the anaerobic zone,will be a mixing water that contains the most solids.To take advantage of this stratification,especially for potable systems,a floating pump intake that avoids the surface film where floating particles may be present would best allow the use of the fully aged storage cistern water.
